Walt Disney Promotional Bread Trading Cards (Walt Disney, 1936-37). These thin paper cards were inserted into bread loaf packages by numerous bakeries during the mid- to late 1930's and youngsters were encouraged to prevail upon both parents and neighbors to get more of the cards (by buying more bread, of course), featuring the stable of Walt Disney characters, traveling to world (there were 96 cards in a complete set), and to order the card albums that were issued to hold the colorful designs. On the back of most cards are recipes.
